Friendly Baptist Church

Friendly Baptist Church located in Friendly, West Virginia meets in a building built by a number mission teams.
When Friendly Baptist Church began services on July 8, 2007 the building was about 85% complete.
Since that time there have been more wonderful mission teams come to work on the building,
and the building is nearly complete, and completely paid for.

For the first year the church had three regular attendees.
They were the pastor Larry and Liz Bayle and a faithful lady, Linda Keller.
Occasionally a visitor would join us in a service, or a friend or two from our mother church,
Immanuel Baptist Church in New Martinsville would visit in a service.

The church started with two services each week, Sunday Morning Worship Service, and
Wednesday Evening Prayer Meeting. Plus a Ladies Bible Study led by Liz Bayle has been held each Tuesday morning.
In April of 2008 Don Pursley from Immanuel Baptist Church came to work with us so we
could start Sunday School. In March of 2010 we decided to add a Sunday Evening Bible Study.
Then in September 2010 Julie Ledergerber of Immanuel Baptist Church
came to work with us so we could add a Wednesday Evening Children’s Program due to a
need to do more work with the children that had attended VBS and were now coming to Sunday School.
We have also hold a Fellowship Meal and Prayer Service on a Saturday Evening once each quarter.

The work continues to grow with the weekly average attendance in SS now up to 12 and the
Morning Worship Service average is up to 16, with both of these attendances beginning to reach 20.

As the work goes forward we have seen God meet all the financial needs to insure and
maintain the building and property, and provide the necessary materials for the various programs.
There is not enough space here to tell all that God has done, but we continue to praise Him
and thank Him for what He has done to meet the needs in the church, and for the opportunities
He is giving us to reach our mission field in and around Friendly, West Virginia.
